Call for Papers
Far from being alone in their own context, well-known thinkers like René Descartes and John Locke were consistently engaged with other philosophers commonly disregarded in the current discussion of Early Modern Philosophy.  These minores now retain a borrowed significance from their relationships with better-known philosophers.  We are now seeking papers that aim to develop accounts of the minores in Early Modern Philosophy.
We invite both professional scholars and graduate students to submit abstracts and papers for 20-minute presentations regarding the philosophy of lesser-known small figures in Early Modern Philosophy (roughly Montaigne up to Kant).
Papers should be prepared for blind review and sent as a pdf. file to the conference organizer Alex Shillito at shillito@mail.usf.edu.  In a separate pdf. please provide you name, academic affiliation, email address, telephone number, paper title, and your abstract.
Deadline: November 30th
Decision by January 5th
Any questions can be directed to the conference organizers Alex Shillito, shillito@mail.usf.edu, or Dwight Lewis, dwightlewis@mail.usf.edu.  The Southeast Seminar in Early Modern Philosophy is organized in partnership with Roger Ariew and Doug Jesseph.
