Calling for proposals for a roundtable at the 2018 MLA annual meeting in New York City, on the topic of “rethinking tragedy and the tragic in early modern France.” This roundtable discussion will attempt to discern the nature of tragedy and the tragic—or resistance thereto— particularly in non-theatrical genres.
